RPG Maker VX project in the works

Ok. I've decided to try my hand at a brave game. The concept is simple. The game will be set over about 40 missions or episodes. Each episode will have the main mission and also side missions that can only be done during that particular episode.

The sprites will all be drawn by me. The background I'll try and rip from the PSOne Brave Saga games.

The ultimate attacks of the heroes will power up as they level up and subsequently require more energy to use.

Thats all I've come up with so far. This is going to be a big project. Hope to have something to show for it soon heh.

Mecha profile - Deckard

BP-110, or Deckard, is the first member of the Brave police force. He meets the main character Yuuta Tomonaga 6 months prior to the first episode and forms a fast friendship with the young boy. In the months that follow he starts to develop emotions and a 'heart'. Initially he was to have hisa memory wiped for new data to be installed but by some miracle he recovers it just in time to save Yuuta from Kaus and subsequently arrest him.



His second mission was to stop Kyado Norias from taking over tokyo. He is outmatched at first but with Yuuta's help he was able to combine with his new support, the J-Loader, and destroy all the Barabarosers (valvaroser?).

He is soon introduced the the BP-300 Numbers but they had no emotion systems as of yet. At this time there was a big debate about whether the BP-300s should have emotion systems installed. A interstellar life form Gaizonite arrives on earth and starts taking over all electronic devices. Deckard and the BP-300 arrive on the scene but soon the BP-300 start to malfunction as well and turns on Deckard. With some help from Yuuta's neighbours, Deckard is able to subdue Gaizonite. Because of this incident Chief Saejima decides to install emotion systems (copied from Deckard) in the three BP-300 numbers. The three introduces themselves as McCrane, Power Joe and Dumpson (apparently the names were made by the robots themselves) and their official name is now the Build Team. Chief Saejima is amazed that their personalities are so different from Deckard's despite being a copy.

After the first unseccussful union of the Build Team, they consult Deckard who tells them to believe in Yuuta. But it becomes apparent there is something else needed... something that only they themselves can find.

Later in the mission to stop the falling sattelite tower from falling J-Decker is injured by the debris but the now combined Build Tiger saves him and destroys the rest of the tower.

During an incident with a self thinking robot (Kagero), Deckard is called on scene to find a trashed car and a mysterious robot hound who could not be traced using specialist equipment. He is later attacked by a stealth fighter intent on stopping Deckard in interfering with Kagero's movements. Finally after meeting Kagero proper he realises Kagero is a self thinking robot like himself. Kagero takes off but a mysterious patrol car speeds in to stop Deckard taunting Deckard. Soon Yuuta's sister is taken caoptive by kagero and Deckard is insistent on saving her but the mysterious robot hound returns. It is revealed he is in fact the new Brave police member Shadowmaru and Kagero's superior model. Shadowmaru allows Kagero to escape so he can do as he pleases (while promising to not cause any moretrouble) but Kagero is captured by Shinjou Takeshi, the inventor of the AI computer which is installed in all of the Braves.

During Kagero's rampage J-Decker is reluctant to shoot him because he has self thought (making them similar).

Deckard is introduced to Yuuta's parents but soon feels a bit out when Yuuta stops paying attention to him (unknowingly). Deckard gets a little trigger happy when faced against the Robot thieving group and injures the second eldest brother. After finding their lair Yuuta's family arrive to try to convince Deckard to return and Deckard is forced to come out to warn them. The exit closes and the brothers reveal themselves. They badly injure Deckard (as revenge) but Yuuta and his family gather round to protect him stating he is one of the Tomonagas.

After Drillboy's big debut the Build Team are angry at Drillbiy's arrogance but Deckard states that there may be more to the incident and the others realise Yuuta might be in danger.

After Yuuta is kidnapped he uses the commander to call the Build team to unite but it ends in failure. They wonder why and Deckard tells them their hearts need to be as one but that isnt possible in the current circumstances.



J-Decker combines his power with Super Build Tiger's to utilise Tiger fang against Evil God Inty.

During the case of the Robot Cars Deckard comes into conflict with Gun Max, a member of the high way patrol who will soon be transferred to the Brave Police force. Deckard later helps Gun Max and in turn Gun Max helps Deckard and they capture the supposed mastermind behind the ploy.



After learning about the powerful Gun Max Cannon, Gun Max once again refuses to work with Deckard. After a small adventure Gun Max tells Deckard about his past, his old partner and the reason why he doesnt get along with others. During the battle against Bikecross Gun Max finally allows J-Decker to utilize the Gun Max Cannon.

During Deckard and Yuuta's party (to commemorate their first meeting) two AI robots attack and Deckard is forced to intercept but none of the current Brave Police members can stop them. Deckard is badly injured and goes offline. All seems lost when a new AI robot appears called Duke and combines with the Fire Roader to form Duke Fire. He quickly deals with Chieftain 2 and would have finished off Chieftain 1 as well if Victim Orlando had not intercepted.



While Deckard is being transported to the station Victim tells the newly released Gaizonite to capture Deckard's broke remains and merges him with the damaged J-Roader and they become Satan J-Decker. He attacks the Jail where Shinjo is kept and buys Victim the time he needs to talk. The Brave police arrive and Yuuta tries to plead with him but he attacks them instead. After Victim's little 'talk' they escape.

Satan J-Decker appears once again with Chieftain 1 in tow and attack the transport train that is protectted by the Brave police who had been tipped off. In the ensuing fight Chieftain tells J-Decker to attack Yuuta and Regina but in the moments before he can deal the blow, Yuuta's crie of 'Deckard' stops him in his tracks leaving time for Duke Fire to slice Chitfain's arm off (the one which is carrying Gaizonite) and Gaizonite escapes (not without a 'souvenir'). Satan J-Decker reverts back to the broken state it was in before.

After his Ai computer is placed in a replacement body it is discovered that is computer may have been damaged causing him to lose all his memories. After forcing Yuuta to leave, he requests to have all of his memories removed. But during the procedure his AI computer chip starts to freak out prompting Regena to re install the chip. He arrives in battle with all his memories recovered and calls the others to buy him and Duke Fire time to destroy the Mecha Saurer.



The Brave Police are shown the ability for Deckard and Duke to combine into Fire J-Decker but because of damaged files, either of them could lose their memories. Its not long before they are called into action against Hyper Chiftains 1 and 2 who no longer have any thoughts of friendship. Chieftain one kills Chieftain 2 to combine into Armoured Chieftain. Deckard and Duke request to combine into Fire J-Decker. Initially Yuuta refuses but he realises it must be done. They finally combine with both of their memories intact and dfeats Armoured Chieftain and recovers his AI chip. Victim launches a last ditch attack but Hyper Chieftain 2 attacks and immobolizes Gaizonite despite him being thought to have died.



Fire J-Decker first uses Max Cannon Mode againster Psycho Gunner.

Like his fellow BravE police members, Deckard was against he Brave police Power Up Project. The creator of the system then challenges the Brave Police (and rigs the machines with bombs so if it is destroyed everything around it would be destroyed too. Shadowmaru escapes with Yuuta while the others stay behind to destroy the out of control robots severely injuring them in the explosion though everyone survived.

After the Brave police destroy a oncoming asteroid they group are srounded by a strange gas which causes them to fall a sleep. They wake up half a year later. The world no longer needs them so they decide to go their seperate ways. Everyone has found new professions aside from Deckard who dcides to stay as a Police officer. Yuuta tries to convince him to do quite but Deckard refuses. Deckard sees how out classed he is and returns to where it all started. The secret warehouse. By then he was running out of fuel and he is about to fall over when he is help up by Shadowmaru. As they return to the station the others appear as well to help Deckard. They all say they want to stay as part of the Brave Police. Their human companions arrive and ask why but they all say its what the want to do. At this point they start to float up and Yuuta says that it was all a dream. Deckard wakes up and ask how long hes been asleep with Yuuta replying only half a day.

Earth is attack by a alien force and all of the Breave police except Shadowmaru is tricked into going into space to fight back. They are trapped in a force field but they are saved by a glowing light which returns them to earth and transforms Shadowmaru into Breave cannon mode to anniallate the enemy mecha. They are them transported to the 'benevolent' alien, High jusjin's ship and told that They were after the alien criminal Barak Seijin. After being returned to earth the the High Jusjin start thei investigation as a new alien arrives on earth.

Victim Orlando escapes from prison and kidnaps Yuuta and his sisters in exchange for the Brave police's AI computers. After foiling his plans Victim is revealed to be robot himself.

Noiba Foltsoik manages to free his mother, Eva Foltoik, the original creator of the AI project who was imprisoned for illegally experimenting on human brains for research. They activate Big Mother, a gigantuan space ship with the Harmelen System which can cause AI computers to malfunction and tries to conquer the world. The Brave police turn off all of thei rAI apart from Deckard's who has his Ai in sync with Yuuta and attack Big Mother. After the new Victim fails to kill Yuuta in J-Decker's driver seat J-Decker crashes into Big Mother but the Harmelen system destroys Deckard's AI computer. After VVictim tries to kill Yuuta a second time and fails all the AIs start to find Decxkard's sould and sees the moment in which Deckard gains his 'heart'. The sleeping Brave police members wake up and head to Big Mother.At this point all the mass produced Black Chieftains and Victim turn on the Foltsoik duo but they activate Mad Mother and starts destroying them. The other Brave police arrive and with Victim's help destroys Mad Mother and escapes.

After this High Jusjin activate a program which will change the hearts of everyone on earth and the brave police are taken to their ship by Kapia, an alien whose home planet had been affected by this system. He tells them how there is no emotion on that planet and he wants to save earth from the same fate. Yuuta convinces the High Jusjin to leave peacefully and they return to earth. Kapia tells him he wants a companion to travel with him to bring back emotion to his planet. Deckard volunteers and they leave the next day. That night Yuuta and his sisters are attack by the Foltsoik duo who have somehow survived but Deckard returns just in time to chase them away. Yuuta ask why hes back and he says that Kapia had another candidate in mind (Victim).

J-Decker 02 - He is J-Decker

Ok second episode. The animation is a little worse than the first episode. Different team working on it? Actually the next few episodes wont really be quite as well animated as the first one.

The episode starts off with Dark Magic User Kyado Norias taking over the aiforce of Airmania Republic (eh?). But his first attempt as he storms into the main control room of their air port is ubsuccessful as he forgets the last part of his incantation. After leaving the room he remembers it and sends a bunch of snakes and lizards after the unlucky team of ait traffic controllers.

Meanwhile Deckard is hounded by news reporters looking for a scoop. Yuuta and his eldest sister Azuki is hiding inside the house but Kurumi forces Yuuta outside so she can be interviewed (ha). Then Chief Saeijima calls Deckard to bring Yuuta because he wants to show them 'something'. Deckard puts on the sirens and races to the police station.

Chief Saejima asks Deckard that he had kept quiet because he wanted to surprise Yuuta but Deckard seems to be as in the dark as Yuuta. The gates open up to reveal J-loader, the support vehicle for Deckard. He gives Yuuta a small device (the commander of this series) and tells him to call Brave Up J-Decker (while doing a pose which Yuuta is reluctant to do). But Deckard remains silent. Saejima asks why he's not doing anything and Deckard apologizes saying he cant find anything in his data banks.

After a checkup it is revealed that this is because he had developed human emotions causing all his data to be scrambled up and he cant recall it (similar to humans?). Their solution is for Yuuta to play a simulation of Deckard combining then using that data in the Commander to manually send the data to Deckard's AI computer.

It is at this time that Kyado makes his presense known saying he'll be in tokyo shortly and demands a surrender. Airmania sends them a refusal to help saying the aerial machines stolen are top secret. Yuuta tries to make the simulated Deckard combine but fails. Deckard gives encourages im but it is no use. Saejima informs Yuuta that the japanese goverment are ready to surrender but Yuuta requests that he and Deckard go to stop Kyado.

In battle Deckard is outmatched against Kyado's forces. Chief Engineer Todo tells Saeijima that they recieved the blue prints of Airmania's machines (after some offscreen banter I presume). The machines transform into humanoid form and attack Deckard. Saeijima tells Yuuta to retreat but Deckard requests that he be allowed to combine with J-Loader for real. After much argument Yuuta simply shuts of all communications and hops out of J-Loader telling Deckard to do it.



During combination the J-loader is being pummelled and Yuuta wonders whether he should continue with it. He decides to continue and J-Decker is born! J-Decker easily destroys all of the enemy mecha but Kyado uses his magic to turn some magical paper into flying creatures and they attack J-Decker and stop him from moving. Yuuta sees J-Decker's nightstick and positions it to fire at Kyado causing all the creatures to disappear. J-Decker then busts out the J-Buster and destroys the ship Kyado is standing on. Kyado is then arrested by Yuuta.

Back at the station Chief Saejima is jealous that he did not see J-Decker's first successful combination while Yuuta and J-Decker laugh at how childish he is.

Not a bad second episode. Mainly a introduction to Deckard's supprting unit the J-Loader which will make an appearance in nearly every single episode of the series. Definitely not as good as the first episode though.

J-Decker 01 - Robot Detective Go!

Ok. First episode. All first episodes need to be good so they can attract their target audience and this does not disappoint (I must say it got ME hooked).

It all starts with a young boy Yuuta. He seems like the average boy. He gets up early. Why? His sisters question this thinking he's trying to meet a girl he likes. But no. He leaves home early and after a most treacherous journey comes to a supposedly abandoned warehouse. He hopes down a secret shoot and is caught by blue giant who is the hero of the piece; Deckard.

It appears Deckard and Yuuta has known each other for a while now and are very good friends. But on this occasion Deckard seems trouble by something. At this time the chief engineer and Commissioner arrive talk about Deckard's completion and induction into the police force. After they leave Deckard tells Yuuta to return later because of something 'important'.

We are then introduced to the evil Magnetism Manipulator Doctor Gaus who steals robots and sells them to criminals. The police force's robots are powerless to stop them so who can (it should be obvious if you are at all familiar with action robot shows)?

While the introduction conference for the Brave police project is ongoing, Deckard is explaining to yuuta that in order for him to be posted on duty, he would need to have his memory erased and new data be installed into his memory banks. Yuuta of course objects to this but Deckard reminds our young hero that the reason he was created was to fight crime.

The duo reminisce how they first met. How Yuuta accidentally fell down the shoot when trying to retrive his toy plane and came upon the sleeping Deckard and accidentally switched him on. They talk about how Deckard learned about human emotions through Yuuta.

As Yuuta is asleep (How? I dont know) the crew arrive to begin work on Deckard. Yuuta wakes up and tries to stop them but Deckard tells him to live on courageous as he will do so as well (surprising the crew in how he could speak).

Yuuta is taken home by an officer but he runs off again to the parade that was going on promoting Deckard's transportation to the Station. But at this time Doctor Kaus arrives and declares that he will take the Brave police for his own. He starts causing havoc and is about to take Deckard away when Yuuta remembers what Deckard said and runs in front of the track carrying him. Doctor Kaus, clearly not amused lashes out but is surprised when Deckard wakes up and breaks through the roof of the truck.



Deckard carries Yuuta to safety as the commissioner realises that the boy has awaken Deckard's heart aand calls it a miracle. Yuuta gives Deckard orders to destroy the magnetic core as Decaard calls him 'Boss'. Deckard quickly finishes up the robot and arrests Kaus.

The Commissioner meets Yuuta and tells him Deckard no longer needs to have his memory wiped and invites Yuuta to join the force.

Quite an eventful first episode eh? It establishes the theme of this series. Heart and courage. A recurring theme. It is a very good first episode and pretty high quality too. It sets up the criminal of the week scenario that is basically in every Brave series but goes for a more police feel (obviously). Very recommended.
